Freebird Catamaran
Come and enjoy one of the best whales and dolphins watching activity in Tenerife aboard the giant Freedbird Catamaran, one of the biggest boat in Puerto Colon.
Freebird Catamaran offers 2 types of excursions:
A 3-hour trip around Costa Adeje and a 4,5-hour trip up to Los Gigantes and Masca. Kindly note the big boat has a large capacity. Should you wish to be part of a smaller group of people, you would rather go for one of our sail or private boat excursion.
The 3-hour trip departs from Puerto Colon harbour at 10 AM. Our captain will navigate straight to La Gomera as to spot the numerous species of whales and dolphins living in the area. As you sail, the crew will provide you with very useful information about cetaceans, their natural environment, favourite food and/or behaviour. Indeed, you will be able to enjoy some free time as to chill-out and sunbathe on the front deck of the boat.
The 4,5-hour trip is similar to the 3-hour trip, but the captain will navigate further up to the spectacular Los Gigantes cliffs. Before getting back to departure point, you will enjoy a break in Masca Bay and take a refreshing dip in the ocean.
During the 2 trips aboard our catamaran, you will be served soda, water, beer, or sangria, as well as some food, which is a selection of different sandwiches. Don’t forget the excursion is all about whale and dolphin watching, so don’t expect luxury gourmet food.

Journée agréable avec un personnel de bord aimable et souriant. J’ai vu des baleines pilotes (petites baleines). Je reste un peu déçue car lorsque l’on m’a vendu cette activité on a parlé d’une paella, de fruits et boissons, le tout à volonté. La paella est en réalité du Riz épicé. Pas de poulet, moules ou chorizo. Juste quelques morceaux de légumes. Pour dessert une banane. Aucun autre fruit au choix, et un petit morceaux de pain. Loin de l’opulence mis en avant lorsqu’il s’agit d’acheter être activité. Le coin baignade au pied des falaises n’a rien d’exceptionnel selon moi. Ça reste malgré tout une journée sympathique.
Superbe activité, avec ambiance au top 👌🏻😄 musique en tout genre pour varier les plaisirs. Boisson à volonté, nous avons pu voir des dauphins et des orques. Puis petite baignade de 5 min pour rafraîchir tout le monde (4,5h de catamaran).

It is worth paying a little more and renting the sunbeds at the front of the boat, it is done as you enter the boat so if you are interested it is better to be first in line. We were lucky and saw dolphins very close to the boat and also whales. The swim in Masca was also amazing. My teenage daughters also enjoyed a lot. Very friendly staff.
C’était une très belle expérience. J’ai apprécié vraiment ! J’ai choisi la croisière de 4h30. J’ai vu des baleines pilotes, j’ai pris un bain dans la mer et j’ai eu beaucoup d’informations sur la région. Le paysage était très beau. Je recommande d’y aller tôt pour pouvoir pleinement profiter des chaises longues (à l’avant du catamaran), avec un petit supplément de 10€ par personne. Le personnel était très gentil et la paella était bonne.
¡Fuimos a ver las ballenas el fin de semana y no podíamos agradecer lo suficiente al personal! ¡Increíble! El personal era encantador y estaba muy bien informado y era muy útil. ¡Definitivamente vale la pena el viaje! Ver las ballenas fue increíble. ¡Gracias a todos!
